Washer Repair in Point Loma
Two faults account for most washer calls on the peninsula and they look nothing alike. A machine that fills, washes, then sits full of water has a blocked drain path, and nine times in ten the blockage is in the pump filter rather than the pump — a coin, a hairpin, the underwire from a bra. A machine that leaks only on the spin cycle is almost always the door boot, and almost always along its lower third, where standing water sits between washes. My Sub-Zero is boxed into the cabinetry. Does it have to come out?
Almost never. Machine compartment and condenser open off the lower grille; evaporators, fans, thermistors and boards all come out from inside the cabinet. That matters in Point Loma, where plenty of kitchens are narrow galley runs with original wood underfoot and walking a built-in out risks more than the repair is worth. If a fault needs the unit brought forward, you hear it before anything moves.
Is a twenty-year-old built-in still worth repairing this close to the ocean?
Usually, yes. Nothing exotic stops them: a fan motor behind the evaporator, a heater in the defrost circuit, a temperature sensor, a gasket gone hard, the module driving the ice maker.
