Ice Maker and Water Delivery Repairs in Point Loma

Ice complaints on this peninsula are usually water complaints wearing a costume. Cubes that come out light, crescent-shaped or with a crater in the top are telling you the mold was still filling when the cycle moved on, and the causes are a filter nobody has dated, pressure at the inlet valve that has fallen away, or ice narrowing the fill tube to a straw. The supply run is where the older housing stock bites. That works until scale narrows it. The machine then fills a little short on every cycle, the control has no way of detecting it, and the bin fills with cubes that look right until you pick one up and it caves in. Reading pressure at the valve takes two minutes and decides which repair you are actually buying, which is why it happens before anything gets quoted.

Outdoor and undercounter machines take the roughest treatment on the peninsula. They live in a bar or an island a few steps from a slider, they take their air at ankle height, and west of the ridge it arrives carrying salt and beach sand. What a fouled condenser does to an ice machine is not to stop it but to slow it down: harvest cycles stretch, daily output falls away, and the decline is gradual enough that nobody notices. Then a holiday weekend arrives and the machine looks broken. It has been working at part capacity since March.
