Freezer Performance and Defrost Services in Point Loma

A Sub-Zero freezer is meant to sit at 0°F, and one that has crept up to five gives no warning at all until something in it is already ruined. Point Loma freezers are not fighting heat, they are fighting the water in the air, and that distinction chooses the repair. The peninsula stays mild nearly the whole year. Dry is the one thing it never manages. Between the overcast sitting over the ridge most mornings and an onshore breeze in the afternoon, the air walking into the cabinet every time somebody reaches for ice is carrying a load, and all of it ends up on the evaporator as frost. Ocean Beach kitchens see the worst of it in July, when a drawer gets opened over and over by people arriving straight off the sand, and it never gets a chance to pull back down in between. The drain is the component nobody considers until it puts water on the floor. Every defrost makes meltwater, and that water is supposed to leave through a narrow tube at the back of the compartment and land in a shallow pan above the machinery, where waste heat sees it off. Once ice closes the tube the water has nowhere to be. It freezes flat across the base of the cabinet, thickens week by week, and eventually escapes beneath the door. Hacking it out with a screwdriver buys a couple of weeks and nothing else. Opening the tube, and on models fitted with one proving the drain heater, is the actual repair, and in a Loma Portal kitchen with wood underneath, choosing between those two is choosing whether you keep the floor.
